PROCEEDINGS OF 131st MEETING OF THE ERC-NCTE HELD ON 15th-18th February, 2012

The 131st Meeting of the Eastern Regional Committee (ERC), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) was convened on 15th-18th February, 2012 at Conference Hall, ERC, NCTE, 15, Neelakantha Nagar, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar.

At the outset, the Regional Director welcomed all the members of Committee and apprised them about the provisions of the NCTE Act, Rules, Regulations and Guidelines issued from time to time. With the permission of Chairperson, Dr. Sunil Yadav (Convener) presented the Agenda before the Committee for its due consideration and appropriate decision.

The Eastern Regional Committee after due consideration of the records available in files of the institutions including their reply received from time to time viz-a-viz provisions of NCTE Act, Rules, Regulations, Guidelines and directions from NCTE Hqrs. took the decisions as under :-

The Committee deliberated and considered the case in detail and made following observations:- The Committee noted the fact on record that a Show Cause Notice to the institution was issued on the basis of decision of 127th ERC Meeting wherein it was found that the institution had selected Dr. Mithilesh Kumar Upadhaya as a Principal whose name was also there in few other institutions. In response to Show Cause Notice the institutition submitted the name of Dr. Chak Lal Verma as newly selected Principal. As per the record available in the ERC Office, it is found that the name of this Principal Dr. Chak Lal Verma is again reflected in the list of Principal submitted by some other institution. Therefore, the institution is asked to clarify its action in the form of affidavit. The institution is directed to furnish the complete procedure of selection of new Principal. The institution shall submit the above details/ clarification along with all necessary documents accompanied with an Affidavit in support of reply of the above points. Hence the ERC decides to seek above details/clarification & issue Show Cause Notice to the institution under section 14 (3) (b) of the NCTE Act on the above points and direct the institution to submit the reply as per provisions of the NCTE Act, Rules & Regulations within 21 days.
